Breast Reduction
What is Breast Reduction?

Liberation Through Reduction.

Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) removes excess breast tissue, fat and skin to relieve the back, shoulder and neck pain that disproportionately large breasts cause — while also reshaping and lifting for a balanced, beautiful silhouette.

At BodyCode Aesthetics it is consistently one of our most rewarding operations. Patients describe profound improvements in comfort, confidence and quality of life.

  • Relieves chronic back, neck and shoulder pain
  • Eases shoulder grooving from bra straps
  • Resolves skin irritation under the breast
  • Easier to find clothing and bras that fit
  • Improves posture and exercise comfort
  • Lifts and reshapes as part of the same operation

Where Can It Treat?

Treatment Areas

Breast reduction addresses both the physical and emotional impact of disproportionately large breasts.

Chronic Back & Neck Pain

The weight of disproportionately large breasts causes persistent musculoskeletal pain.

Skin Irritation & Rashes

Skin folds beneath the breasts become inflamed and infected — resolved by reduction.

Shoulder Grooving

Permanent indentations from bra straps disappear after weight is reduced.

Difficulty Dressing

Standard sizes don't fit — clothing options become normal again.

Restricted Physical Activity

Exercise becomes comfortable; many patients describe rediscovering activities they had abandoned.

Self-Consciousness

Emotional wellbeing improves dramatically with reduced unwanted attention and easier clothing fit.

Is It Right for You?

Ideal Candidates

Breast reduction is suitable for patients suffering physical or emotional symptoms from disproportionately large breasts.

Symptomatic Macromastia

You experience neck, shoulder or back pain, grooving, rashes or restricted activity due to breast size.

Stable Weight

You've held a stable weight for at least 6 months — weight changes affect breast volume.

Completed Family (Preferred)

Future pregnancies and breastfeeding can affect the result. Surgery is possible before but adjustment may be needed later.

Good General Health

You are a non-smoker with no uncontrolled medical conditions.

Realistic Expectations

You accept that reduction produces permanent scars in exchange for the physical and aesthetic transformation.

Not Suitable If…

Reduction is delayed for active breastfeeding, untreated breast disease, or significant weight changes.

Risks & Considerations

Every patient deserves complete honesty. These risks are rare when surgery is performed by BodyCode Aesthetics' expert team.

Scar Visibility

Reduction scars are permanent. The pattern is selected to minimise visibility; scars fade significantly over 12–18 months.

Nipple Sensation Changes

Temporary sensation changes are common; usually resolve over months.

Asymmetry

Minor differences can occur; revision is rarely needed.

Breastfeeding Impact

Some reduction in breastfeeding ability is possible; technique aims to preserve this where requested.

Wound Healing

Inverted-T scars demand strict non-smoking and meticulous closure.

Re-Growth Over Time

Significant weight gain or pregnancy can re-enlarge breasts — weight stability preserves the result.

Our Commitment to Safety

Reduction is one of the most consistently rewarding operations we perform. Strict screening, meticulous technique and detailed aftercare deliver predictably excellent outcomes.

How much can be reduced in one operation?
There is no fixed limit — we have safely reduced breasts by 1–2kg per side in a single operation. The amount removed is tailored to your goals and what is safe for blood supply.
Will I still be able to breastfeed?
Many patients retain the ability to breastfeed, but reduction can affect milk supply. If breastfeeding is important to you, tell us at consultation — technique can be tailored to preserve ducts.
What kind of scars will I have?
Inverted-T (anchor) scars are most common for substantial reduction: around the areola, vertical, and along the breast crease. With silicone scar care and SPF, scars fade significantly over 12–18 months.
When will my pain go away?
Many patients report immediate relief from back, neck and shoulder pain the moment they wake from surgery — the weight is simply gone.
How long until I return to work?
Most patients with non-physical jobs return at 2 weeks. Physical jobs require 4–6 weeks.
Will my breasts re-grow?
Removed tissue does not re-grow. However, weight gain, pregnancy or hormones can cause some re-enlargement. Weight stability preserves the result.
Is reduction covered by insurance?
Coverage in Nigeria is limited. We provide detailed documentation if your insurer requires it for partial coverage.
How is reduction different from a lift?
Reduction removes tissue and reshapes; a lift only reshapes. Many patients need both — and reduction includes a lift component.
Can I exercise heavily after?
Yes — most patients return to activities (running, gym, sport) that were uncomfortable or impossible before, often discovering exercise as a new pleasure.
How do I book a consultation?
Click "Book Consultation" or WhatsApp us. We'll arrange your appointment within 24 hours.
How much does treatment cost?
Cost depends on the procedure, the time required and any combined treatments. Contact us for a personalised quote.
Do you offer financing?
We offer flexible payment options. Contact us for current arrangements.
